Legal advisor vs advocate in Poland

Profession related to a legal advisor is an advocate. The main difference between a legal advisor and an advocate in Poland is that the former is able to provide legal assistance while being an employee. From the 1th of July 2015 legal advisor, as a lawyer in Poland, gained the ability to act as defender in criminal trials, ie in cases concerning criminal and tax offenses, except that the defender can only be a legal adviser not being an employee. The division into two professions nowadays is artificial and has primarily historical background.
